If you’re looking to bring your passion to the next level—whether it’s dance, painting murals, or crocheting dog toys—try adding a little [cannabidiol (CBD)](/content/discover/what-does-cbd-stand-for-and-what-does-it-do-fls/index.html) to your process. CBD is used by many creatives to “drop in” to their creative zone and find inspiration. Because [CBD may reduce mild anxiety](https://discover.feals.com/cbd-dosage-for-anxiety-in-milligrams-how-to-think-about-dosing-fls) and stress, it can help you hone in on what you love, and its potential benefits for focus can extend and expand your vision. Here’s everything you need to know about using CBD for creativity, including how CBD’s calming effects can enhance your creativity and how to incorporate CBD into your creative workflow. #### Why Does CBD for Creativity Work? CBD is believed to relax your mind through its ability to activate the brain receptor for serotonin, 5-HT1A (a receptor [linked to anxiety and depression](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3927969/)). CBD may also [enhance the signaling](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3316151/) of a particular endocannabinoid called anandamide, aka the “bliss chemical”. Anandamide signaling is associated with a positive mood and a sense of calm. Through these interactions, CBD may reduce your anxiety and calm down what can sometimes feel like the non-stop “noise'' in your brain—we call this its [anxiolytic](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/B9780128007563000971?via%3Dihub) [properties](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6319597/). CBD may also interfere with the secretion of cortisol, a hormone that is released when you feel stressed. By decreasing cortisol levels, your stress response may decrease as well. This helps clear the way for your neurons to communicate more clearly, allowing your body to refocus your energy on what matters. There are over 120 naturally occurring cannabinoids. When you take a full-spectrum (also known as “whole-plant”) CBD product, the companion cannabinoids create an [entourage effect](/content/discover/what-is-the-entourage-effect-when-using-cbd-explaining-the-science-fls/index.html), meaning they work together to enhance CBD’s effects and your experience. Feals CBD is blended with [MCT oil](https://discover.feals.com/benefits-of-cbd-and-mct-oil-fls), which boasts energy-boosting properties, too. #### How Do I Start Using CBD for Creativity? [Everyone’s perfect dose is different](https://discover.feals.com/cbd-dosage-how-much-cbd-should-i-take-fls), but if you’re trying to throw yourself into a project and you want to feel clarity and like you're in your zone, start small. [10 to 20 milligrams](/content/discover/cbd-dosage-for-anxiety-in-milligrams-how-to-think-about-dosing-fls/index.html) can be just enough to quiet your mind and find your sweet spot. If you’re looking to push past something or you’re feeling a lot of self-doubt, you might want to try a little more, up to 40 to 60 milligrams. Once you’ve found your optimal dose, try to put yourself somewhere that feels comfortable to you. When you’re creating, you’re vulnerable. CBD may calm your body and your mind, enabling you to access your higher self and let yourself explore more freely. Make sure your environment is somewhere that will make you feel _good_ and safe to explore. A good rule of thumb is to pay attention to your senses: the sounds, smells, and lighting in your space. #### Enhance Your Creativity With Feals’ Premium CBD Products At Feals, we believe you deserve a better way to feel better—and create better.
